In-plain view of the c-AlN/CrN multilayers annealed for 15 min at 900 °C acquired by STEM-HAADF. The bright lines correspond to the CrN wetted columnar GBs. Hexagonal AlN (dark contrast) forms preferentially at GB junctions. Regions with low and high number densities of GB are apparent (Region 1 and 2, respectively)
