Colloidal nanocrystals are widely used in various applications such as electronic devices, phosphors, catalysts, battery, and have formed an important platform for biomedical research. The synthesis of highly uniform nanomaterials with controlled size, shape, and compositions and arrangement of nanocrystals them into highly ordered arrays is paramount to tailor the physical properties for many emerging applications. Papers in this thematic series will introduce and review the recent advances in the field of the synthesis, self-assembly, and applications of colloidal inorganic nanocrystals to discover the possibility of the practical applications of colloidal nanocrystals.
